A growing library collection and children’s department required doubling the space at the Ericson Public Library in Boone, Iowa. A complete interior and exterior renovation took place. Historical integrity was of utmost importance as the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Careful attention was given to matching and restoring existing masonry and supplementing existing structure to adequately support library floor loading. The result was an expanded library that will serve Boone and the surrounding area for many years to come.
