The historic 114-year-old Morgan Building in downtown Perry, Iowa, has been beautifully restored, transforming a fire-damaged landmark into affordable upper-story housing and future commercial office space.

In 2018, a fire destroyed an upstairs apartment and severely damaged the rest of the structure. 10Fold Architecture + Engineering did a building assessment and provided architectural design and interior design services, preserving the building’s historic character while bringing it back to life for the community.

“Chad’s expertise and cheerful nature made our job in restoring a fire-ravaged, abandoned building a bit more smooth,” said Cheri Scheib, a member of the Nudgers, the local group dedicated to revitalizing Perry. “He helped guide us through the rebuilding, and we thoroughly appreciated all of his work!”

This project represents another step in the Nudgers’ mission to restore downtown Perry, one building at a time. 10Fold is proud to have contributed to this effort, helping turn a fire-damaged historic building into a vibrant, functional space for residents and businesses.
