Imagine the possibilities of a building and then multiply it ten times. Delivering beyond the expected is how 10Fold Architecture and Engineering approaches every project.

Ames Multi-Purpose Education Center (AMES Center)

More than a renovation, the reimagined AMES Center reflects a bold vision for supporting students and staff in an inclusive, forward-thinking environment that is designed to evolve with the needs of the district and the Ames community.

This 27,000+ square-foot facility supports a wide range of educational and student services for K–12 learners in the Ames Community School District. Located just blocks from Ames High School, the former residential building has been transformed into a flexible, multi-functional hub that brings together student services, professional development, and district programs under one roof.

The AMES Center houses behavioral health and therapeutic classrooms, the Home School Assistance Program (HSAP), administrative offices, and continuing education and professional development spaces.

Additional features include a secure outdoor courtyard to serve therapeutic classrooms, flexible meeting and classroom spaces, a community pantry, and shared staff amenities. A new geo-thermal system enhances long-term energy efficiency, while safety, security, and acoustic improvements allow multiple programs to operate simultaneously without disruption.

10Fold collaborated closely with district leadership to design a facility that meets diverse user needs. A color and environmental study guided the selection of calming, functional finishes that align with the district’s quality standards and long-term maintenance goals.
