Sam Stagg

Principal – AIA

Sam’s title is simply Principal, but he fills many roles at 10Fold. He is also the firm visionary, business development director, a project designer and a project manager. He has been practicing in the field of architecture for over 20 years and specializes in K-12 Education, Higher Learning, Corporate Offices and Retail.

The favorite part of his job is design and collaboration. Sam enjoys the early stages of conceptual design and leading a team through a collaborative effort to create inspiring, functional and effective spaces for clients. He starts each project by getting to know the people who will be using the space. Don’t be surprised when he asks probing questions ranging from overarching goals and expectations of the project to specific details about daily use habits and practices.

Sam is very active in the community and serves as a Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); Committee Chair, AIA Iowa; Board Member, Ames Economic Development Commission (AEDC); Committee Chair and Vice President, Ames Main Street (A subsidiary of the Ames Chamber of Commerce); Member, Ames Chamber of Commerce; and President, The Octagon Center for the Arts.

Sam and his wife have two daughters, one in high school and one in middle school. He enjoys longboard skating, bicycling, hiking, sketching, painting and live music.
