The Ames Community School District implemented a phased plan to revitalize its 1970 high school stadium, preserving the historic infrastructure while enhancing functionality for the future. Our team started with a comprehensive facility assessment, evaluating accessibility and structural conditions, guiding upgrades that included turf and track replacement, new stadium lighting, and the addition of 200 bleacher seats.
Existing bleacher concrete repairs and resurfacing were complemented by new aluminum bleachers. The old and new structures were unified with custom school-branded metal panels to create a cohesive aesthetic. Accessibility was improved with an ADA-compliant ramp and wheelchair seating, and upgraded field fencing enhanced safety and security.
Through careful planning, collaboration, and strategic use of resources, the project construction costs came in 6% below our cost opinion with minimal change orders. The result is a modernized, accessible, and visually cohesive stadium that is ready to serve students and the community for generations to come.
