Licensed Architect – AIA
Bruce is a licensed architect with 35 years of experience, primarily working in the realms of higher education and healthcare design. Most recently, he has been finetuning his expertise in building enclosures with exterior renovation projects.
For Bruce, good design matters. He believes that this is the essence of all things in the relationship of successful buildings. From a wall detail with well-defined thermal and moisture control layers to the efficient flow of patients through an emergency room, all are part of the equation as to why we are here.
Bruce is determined to find the best possible solution, inside or out, for each project and enjoys any opportunity to learn and grow. His dedication to developing and creating the right design for clients is fueled by his passion to actively listen.
Seeking out good design in buildings is a passion that Bruce fulfills through his travel experiences. Besides the photos on his phone of his adorable new grandson, Beau, and Maggie, the photogenic Brooklyn NYC cat, you will find many photos of all the interesting buildings and details that he has encountered. Notably, the William Gray 30th Street train station in Philadelphia occupies his camera roll as one of his favorite buildings.
Besides enjoying every building, Bruce does try to enjoy every sandwich and the occasional piece of pie (especially while on RAGBRAI). You’ll find Bruce on long bicycle rides through the cornfields of Iowa when he needs a mental reset.
