Imagine the possibilities of a building and then multiply it ten times. Delivering beyond the expected is how 10Fold Architecture and Engineering approaches every project.

Housby Service Center

A staple in central Iowa for over 50 years, Housby continues to excel in serving the ready mix, waste, forestry, heavy equipment, and highway industries through the development of a new 135,000 square foot facility located in Crosswinds Business Park in Ankeny, Iowa. Previously limited by their aging facilities, Housby created an industry- leading campus comprised of a full truck and equipment repair center, corporate offices, a parts warehouse, and an in-house training facility.

With a commitment to transforming the Housby customer and employee experience through human-centered design, the primary project goals center around improving functionality and maximizing the quality of life of every interacting individual. Specific design strategies implemented focus on maximizing daylight, environmental comfort, enhancing productivity, and workplace safety. The fully conditioned shop features radiant floor heat while all occupied spaces receive natural daylight. To reduce the likelihood of accidents, bridge cranes cover fifty percent of the service bays, and a snow and ice melt system has been installed at exterior service entries.

The diesel technician training program, Housby University, is a one-of-a-kind educational program that empowers individuals with debt-free, hands-on training in Housby’s state-of-the-art service shop. Students have access to over 5,000 square feet of technician instructional space, professional-grade locker rooms, and a food-stocked break room.

Housby has raised the standards of quality and service while creating an environment that impacts all occupants positively and respects the well-being of the employees.
